A carefree little boy skips
along a golden street.
A puppy wags its tail as
it follows at his feet.

The sound of laughter draws him
on this eternal day.
He's on the path to Dove Park
where angels like to play.

When he gets there he enters
the gate so merrily.
With great delight he sees it,
the tire-swing on the tree.

A friendly, smiling angel
says, "Would you like to play?"
The little lad replies with,
"I'll play with you all day."

Far away in the mist he hears it --
 someone's crying.
Clearer now, he can hear the sound of
 faith that's dying.
He listens to the broken sobs of
 someone calling,
 someone calling,
 calling
 him.

"Yes, here I am," he answers.
"Please don't you cry for me.
I'm having fun in Dove Park,
the angels play with me.

I'm happy 'cause I know that
you'll be with me today.
It's never night in Dove Park,
where angels like to play.
